Too Busy To Blog

Decided I had enough of my scribbled wall and decided to paint it purple instead to match my dog-bitten wallpaper.  I was rather pleased with the outcome.  Certainly looked better than all those fading graffiti.

Sigh....this may become a thing of the past soon.  Been doing a little bit of house hunting lately in response to those threatening warnings about dogs in apartments.  I am looking for a land-based house so that my dogs can bark to their hearts' content all day without fear of being sent to the pound.

So, my dear Wawa, you may not be able to see Mommi relaxing with her feet up like that in future while you nap faithfully and loyally by her slippers.  I will miss the lovely view.....by the way, Wawa, where is your sister, Coco?

Pant! Pant! Slurp! Pancakes, pancakes!  I want, I want!  Gimme, gimme....!

Coco The Politician

Before....

.....after.

Before....

....after (pat, pat on the back for Tooki!)

After, after....aftermath.....:(

Here's what it used to look like....:(
I had been saving these Chinese paper cuttings for a long time.  I have always wanted to frame them up (I had 4 of them) and put them on my wall but I proscratinated.  I procrastinated for more than 10 years.  Since I was too lazy to cut and paste I suddenly had this "bright" idea about using them to brighten up that yellow cardboard.  It was no easy task gluing them on because they were so delicate.  10 years of saving and hours of hard work ruined overnight by COCO!!!!

Who?  Me?  Not me!  It is Wawa!

Denying and accusing others....tsk, tsk, tsk.  You are a liar and should be in politics.

Beautiful Day

Not exactly cloudless but still lovely blue. The weather today is beautiful. Breezy and colors sharp and vivid.

And buffaloes grazing in my backyard. Well, almost. We don't have backyards. Only parking lots. I've always thought buffaloes mooed like cows but they don't. They make squealing sounds which gets Coco really, really excited. Annoyingly excited. It's a good thing she couldn't see nor hear them this afternoon.

Do Less, Accomplish More

I am trying my best to do less. A simple example - don't wipe the dog dish dry.

Just hang it. It will dry on its own and I save some work cleaning and wringing the dish cloth.

Cheap Makeover

What the dogs did.

What I did. Sigh, won't be long before they eat my little blue dragonfly.....

More Drawings

More drawings of Wawa........

Drawings On The Wall

I seem to be spending my days mending my dogs' destructive mistakes. I guess it's time to be cruel to be kind. Cruel to them, kind to me. It isn't too bad that they tore off the wallpaper. Writing on the wall is getting to be rather enjoyable. I can now do what Mom never allowed me to do as a child. My mother wasn't a nagging person at all. To get her message across to us loud and clear and without needless repetitions she will just brandish her rotan (cane). Most of my siblings swore that they will never bring up their children "like mother did" so they resorted to gentle, verbal admonishment. I remember an occasion when my little nephew, maybe about 3 then, ruined the wall with his sister's crayons. His father spent many minutes explaining gently why he shouldn't have done that. The little boy listened quietly and I was impressed. Gentle admonishment seemed to have an effect on him. As soon as the lecture ended he took another crayon and drew some more on the wall.

Frustrating Friday

My worst fears materialised yesterday. My dining chair chewed.

My couch chewed. It made me cry. I didn't feel like touching my dogs.

Wall Makeover 2

I decided to go for option 2 - buy some colored markers and turn this into a graffiti wall. It's cheaper, no mess and a fabulous way of remembering everyone who visits.

I welcome comments (for my wall) from all readers of this blog. Every positive and constructive comment will be copied onto this wall in my most beautiful handwriting haha!

We Had A Field Day!

Who chewed the bathroom slipper?

Who chewed the toilet roll holder? So where am I going to hang the toilet paper now??

Never leave toilet door open when you're not home.... :(

Mr. Glum & Miss Gloomy

Glum, glum, gloomy....... :(

Why are both of you so gloomy?

Because you cut off the dangling bits and now we can't reach the wallpaper anymore!! What shall we play with when you're not home??

Would You Like To Be On My Wall?

I found this cute image on the internet while looking for ways to cover up my wall. You know, where the wallpaper used to be......

Sure You Want A Dog For A Pet?

It's beginning to be supremely difficult getting Wawa into his enclosure every morning. It used to be easy - just put doggie titbits and in he'll go. Not anymore. If the temptation proves too great he will enter but only with his front paws. The minute I go near the door he will scoot off and then we'll be going round the couch until I am late for work. It's not a small enclosure, mind you. 55 square feet with a bird's eye view of the green, green park and the sky-blue beach. Plus stray dogs, buffaloes, birds, cats, swimmers and joggers to break that monotony. I gave up trying and decided to leave them inside the house - he won. Afterall, my house is so bare there's nothing that he can possibly chew on except my couch. Or my dining table/chairs. Leather couch won't tear easily (surely?) and I made sure I bought tables and chairs with metal legs. Now, try chewng that!
How about the wallpaper???

A Riddle

What is it? It makes a beautiful sound.........

It's my wind chime! Yesterday the breeze was strong enough to make it tinkle.

Doggie Pictures

I spotted these kiddie drawings when I was buying my "Walk In The Rain" picture and thought they looked cute. It's got a sunny, cheerful feel to it.

Um...I decided to add some personal touches to this one.... :)

A Walk In The Rain

I decided that my bare wall needed a picture so I went hunting for a (dirt) cheap one. This caught my eye and there was no second thoughts about it. So lovely, gives me such a nice, pleasantly sad, nostalgic feeling. I love the rain.

Another Happy Birthday!

When I come home from work each day the whole house is filled with a sweet fragrance. My birthday lilies have opened up. A colleague insisted on buying me lunch today and when she had paid the bill she told me it is her birthday today. I should've been the one buying her lunch! Lesser beings like us have to slog even on our birthdays so to make her day special I stole out of the office and bought her a cake from the nearest cake shop. The woman at the counter did a horrible job writing "Happy Birthday". I told her in not so many words that the cake would be a hit at cakewrecks.blogspot.com. She offered to erase it and later returned asking if I'd like to choose another cake. Since most of the cakes were shocking pink, electric blue or bright yellow I had to choose the palest looking one to avoid getting poisoned but the decorater had made a smudge at the side. There are times when we can't have everything we want so I bought it. Anyhow, the birthday girl was happy and everyone else who could eat the cake was happy. At least it tasted good.

My Chap Goh May

I got a present from my sister-in-law when she visited me on the first day of new year. A tin vase with a cute little garden girl next to it, complete with shears. Today is the 15th day of Chinese New Year. A significant day because it marks the end of the new year celebration. Families gather and have another big dinner. The dogs gave me a Chap Goh May present -- faeces/urine stained newspaper dug out from their crate and torn to shreds. That's my Chap Goh May celebration. It must be near 9 pm and too tired to prepare dinner. Instant noodles will save my life tonight!

Urrrggghhhh!

Just when I thought the cleaning was almost done, the mop bucket gave way and the pedal stopped working. If anyone wants to lose weight, keep pets (the more the quicker) and clean house.
