Ratatouille

Come out, please!

I know you're up there!

I know you're in the dryer somewhere.

Something juicy is waiting for you inside this trap box.

Gotcha!!!

Sick Dog-Haters

Homeless dog and her 3 puppies looking for food.  This neighbor (don't know who they are) always leaves thrash lying on the ground like that because he/she is too lazy to lift the lid and throw the thrash inside the bin.  I will leave you to say your piece about such people.  I just deleted what I thought of them.

I didn't want to bother with these homeless doggies but I just had to because of this tail-less dog.  Months ago I noticed him walking around with an almost severed tail.  It was hanging miserably, most of it raw and bloody, no more hair on it and just so painful to watch that Aunty Tooki wept another bucket of tears for it.  I contacted an NGO but they told me "try to get the exact location".  My apartment area is already the exact location so I didn't know just how "exact" they wanted me to be.  They conveniently forgot about my plea and then one day it started to make my staircase its home.  Talk about the law of attraction.  It looked so miserable I decided to give it food.  Then the tail dropped off and a bloody end was left and now after many, many nights of boiled chicken and rice (that's why no time to blog) it is nicely healed and doggie now walks with lighter steps.  It is even strong enough to snarl at the little pups.  Every night about 4 or 5 of them plus these 3 little puppies will wait for my insufficient bowl of rice.  It's not enough but it's all I can afford for now so they are still going through thrash left by incosiderate neighbors.  The dogs at my office were so hungry they used to eat poop from discarded pampers.  Yukky, right?  They don't do that anymore.  Tail-less dog is the 2nd dog I've seen with tail severed.  There are some dog haters around here.  Another one probably had boiling water poured on its head because a neighbor saw it walking around stinking to high heaven with maggots.  It's probably dead by now.  I just deleted another gory one which I heard from a colleague.  This place has quite a number of very sick dog-haters.

Happy New Year! (Especially To Myself)

What?!!?  What did you say Mr. Grouch said?

He told Mommi to lock us up in that claustrophobic balcony when she invited him for Chinese New Year lunch.

But why???  I behaved quite nicely when he visited us, although he did tell me to shut up once.

Because he was going to invite his son + daughter-in-law + many grandchildren to our home.  Without Mommi's consent.  He's afraid you might scare the kids and they don't like it when we lick them.  They will have to wash themselves 7 times.  We are dirty to them....even though Mommi washed us and we're smelling like fresh jasmine.

Oh no, Coco!  Is Mommi really going to lock us up?  To be honest, I don't quite like Mr. Grouch.  No, I am not having conjunctivitis,  those are unshed tears.  I am worried...it's no fun getting locked up for so many hours while they talk and eat and laugh.

Just look at some of the goodies they'll be munching on while we're cooped up in that hot, stifling balcony!!  Boo-hoo-hoo....hate that Mr. Grouch!

Relax my doggy siblings.....Mommi will not lock you up at all.  She boxed Mr. Grouch's ears with a scathing text message which sent him and his brood packing.  We won't be seeing them for many a Chinese New Year, not even when the dragon has made a full circle after 12 years.  She said anyone who insults her furry kids insult her.  Heh...heh....heh....yawn...zzzzzz.

It's a new dragon year!  The dragon has been spewing fire on Aunty Tooki's head since day one.  Today she had to miss a lunch invitation that she was so, so, so looking forward to because someone passed her the FLU (hate!!) and someone's car broke down and she wasted ALL DAY helping out with that.  She also came across many, many annoying humans and has decided that dogs are way better company than all of them put together.  However, Aunty Tooki will splash water on this dragon because Jesus lives in her heart, yay!

I want to extend my deepest thanks and appreciation to Haopee and Bowie for giving me the One Lovely Blog Award together.  Of course, I will pick it up as soon as I can!  Wow, that's a bucket of water right on Mr. Dragon's nose, thanks!

Tegan, thank you for visiting my blog, I do not know what breed Wawa is because he is a homeless pup born in my workplace.  We call such dogs pariah and they lead a life that is full of suffering and is looked down by (most) humans and sometimes very ill-treated.  So ill-treated that many a times I shed buckets of tears for them.

Gong Xi Fa Cai (blessing of prosperity) to all from Tooki, Coco, Wawa and Wei Wei!

Don't Air The Bed!

Come on, Wawa, rise and shine.  It's time to air that bed.

Awwww but I still want to sleep some more!

Let Mommi air that bed, Wawa!!  If I can't have it, it might as well be aired!

Grrr, grrrr, grrrr!  It's Saturday today, I don't have to get up this early!

Don't mess with me!!  Or my bed!!

Nothing is safe in this house.  I just have to hold on to my bed while I sleep.

Please stop taking away my bed.....I am exhausted.....need to sleep...

Hello!  My name is Wei Wei, short for An Wei which means to comfort.  I hope I will be a comfort to Mommi Tooki for losing 6 other uncles and aunties before me....^_^
Tooki wants to say a BIG thank you to Magic for the award.  She will pick it up as soon as she can...:))
So sorry I have not been able to view and comment....just a few will take half a day due to snail pace connection.

The Bed And The Bone

La...la....hum, hum, hum!  I got a new bed for Christmas and I love, love, love it!

Excuse me, Wawa.  That bed isn't just for you.  It is for the BOTH of US.  Now go away.  It is my turn to use the bed.  You've been sleeping there like a sack of potatoes for many days and many nights.

No!!?!  It is mine, mine mine!  You go sleep in that old, bottomless bed!!  It's a burberry and befits your high station!  This brandless bed is for me, a mongrel/stray/village kampung dog!

I said go away! Shriek! Get lost! Yelp, yelp, yelp!! (That's the way Coco speaks)
Nooo!  Grrrrr!  Nip!  Bite!  Snarl!  (That's the way Wawa speaks)

Oh, stop sulking, Coco!  Talk to me, please!  If you ignore me, my life is a broken pencil (pointless).  Tell you what, I'll let you have the bone that Aunty N gave us on New Year's Day?

Happy New Year from Tooki, Coco and Wawa!!

Goodbye To All My Hamsters....

The last of my hamsters, Le Le, died on 28th December 2011 at age 2 years and 5 days.  Somehow, it's extra, extra sad to see the last one go and now the room seems silent and empty without a single hamster.  Harder than seeing them die is seeing them grow old and weak and finally reduced to a ball of unmoving fur in a little corner all day and all night.  In fact, death is a relief.  I am so tempted to buy another hamster to fill the void but am not sure whether I can cope with all the work that comes with it.

I pray that all 6 of you are together, free and joyful like the birds.......not fighting but playing together like you all used to when you were little!  Always will be in my thoughts and in my heart............hope we will meet again one day.  This blog was started because of all of you.  I once told someone, when all my hamsters are gone, this will help me when I miss them but actually, it makes me feel sadder to see their photos......:(

Hiatus

We have been.............

.........sleeping on our posting responsibilities!

24 hours is not enough, there's so much to do each day and a slow internet connection doesn't help at all.  However, I did visit an aquarium called the Green Connection (don't ever visit, avoid, lousy, rundown, delapidated) and managed to get some animal photos.......

Hi all.  As you can see, I lead a boring and meaningless existence in this awful place.  The gate is open, if I can rouse myself, I might just be able to make a dash for freedom.  Ahhh, but I am too lethargic to do it.

Come rub my belly!  Hi all, I am a turtle who used to roam the deep blue ocean but now I will have to live my remaining 999 years or more in this dirty, murky, greenish water.  That's why it's called the Green Connection.

Fishes!  Will you stay still for a photo??
We are restless!  Put us back where we belong, we hate this dirty algae ridden tanks!!  Well, of course, we do love algae when they're not feeding us enough.
(By the way, that beautiful grey haired photographer in the reflection is none other than Tooki.)

You have heard of angry bird.  How about angry sting ray?  There is no joy living in tanks!  I need the ocean!!  Why are you taking my photo???

I guess we terrapins are the luckiest here.  We quite like murky ponds and we can sun ourselves on these rocks they made.  There's a whole bunch of us here so it doesn't get too lonely......

Phew!  I am glad no one's interested in dragonflies.  We're as free as the birds!

So, shall we go see a movie?
I could've watched 4 movies for the amount we had to pay at that lousy Green Connection!  Why don't we just sit here and look at the sea?  It's cheaper.

Goodbye, Sweet AnAn....

AnAn

Thank you for keeping me company all this while.
Will we meet again?
It is my dearest wish that we will.

Too Busy To Blog

Decided I had enough of my scribbled wall and decided to paint it purple instead to match my dog-bitten wallpaper.  I was rather pleased with the outcome.  Certainly looked better than all those fading graffiti.

Sigh....this may become a thing of the past soon.  Been doing a little bit of house hunting lately in response to those threatening warnings about dogs in apartments.  I am looking for a land-based house so that my dogs can bark to their hearts' content all day without fear of being sent to the pound.

So, my dear Wawa, you may not be able to see Mommi relaxing with her feet up like that in future while you nap faithfully and loyally by her slippers.  I will miss the lovely view.....by the way, Wawa, where is your sister, Coco?

Pant! Pant! Slurp! Pancakes, pancakes!  I want, I want!  Gimme, gimme....!

All Of You Are In Trouble

You are in trouble.  I told you countless times NOT to BARK indiscriminately all day and all night at those dogs outside.  They are NONE of your business!

You are in trouble.  Don't try to look demure.  I told you NOT to bark at our neighbors.  They are NOT a threat to us!  You should know who they are by now, you blind dog.

You too are in trouble, all of you.  Don't loiter in my car park!

Maybe you too but you are fortunate you are not living with me. That's Mr & Mrs Big Bully from my workplace waiting for my chicken rice.  His daily morning greeting for me, by the way, is priceless and has everybody smiling.  He will whine happily while dancing and spinning around my legs, sometimes using his paws to touch me quickly and sneakily.  Priceless, my love for him grows by the day.

This is why all of you are in trouble.  Found this plastered (with relish and gusto and gloatfully, I imagine) on my gate when I came home yesterday.  I may have to move out..or my dogs may be confiscated!

Ummm, did they say anything about hamsters?
